Hilda Stickland, daughter of Frank Stickland and Jane Harris, was born on 22 March 1897 in Fulham, London, at 82 Hazlebury Road.2,3
Hilda was the third of four children. Her siblings were Frederick Frank (b 1894), Elsie (b 1895) and Jack (b 1902).
Hilda appeared in the 1901 census of Belvedere, Erith, Kent, at 2 Beadonwell Road, in her parents' household.2
Hilda appeared in the 1911 census of West Moors, Wimborne, Dorset, in her parents' household. She was described as at School.4
Hilda Stickland married John Albert Davis, son of Charles Albert Davis and Jessie Helen Roffey, after Banns, according to the rites and ceremonies of the Church of England on 4 September 1920 at St Mary's Church, West Moors, Dorset. The marriage was conducted by the Vicar, C Carew Cox. Their witnesses were Elsie Stickland and a Sidney L Black.1
In 1923 Hilda and Jack lived at 7 Sandy Lane North, Beddington, Surrey.
In 1944 Hilda and Jack lived at Bincleaves, Woodmansterne Lane, Wallington, Surrey.
Hilda Stickland died on 7 July 1983, aged 86, in Tuffley, Gloucester, at Newsham House, 262 Stroud Road. The main cause of death was given as kidney failure. This was complicated by the effects of arteriosclerosis in other body systems.5
