Jane Harris, daughter of Matthew Harris and Charlotte Martin, was born on 5 August 1869 in Twineham, Hurstpierpoint, Sussex.4,3
Jane was the second of six children. Her siblings were Philip (b 1867), Priscilla (b 1876), Mary Ann (b 1881), Maria (b 1886) and Olive (b 1888).
Jane appeared in the 1871 census of Westmeston, Ditchling, Sussex, at Gander's Cottage, in her parents' household.5
Jane appeared in the 1881 census of Clayton, Sussex, at Averys Cottages, in her parents' household. She was described as a Scholar.1
Jane appeared in the 1891 census of Cale Street, Chelsea, London, at Chelsea Workhouse Infirmary. Jane was described as a Nurse.6
Jane Harris married Frank Stickland, son of John Frederick Stickland and Elizabeth Joy, after Banns, according to the rites and ceremonies of the Established Church on 25 November 1893 at St John's Church, Highbury, Islington, London. The marriage was conducted by A W Gough MA. Their witnesses were Edward Henry Corbett and Anne Corbett.2
Jane and Frank appeared in the 1901 census of Belvedere, Erith, Kent, at 2 Beadonwell Road. Their children Hilda, Frederick Frank and Elsie were listed as living with them.4
Jane and Frank appeared in the 1911 census of West Moors, Wimborne, Dorset. Their children Frederick Frank, Elsie, Hilda and Jack were listed as living with them.7
Jane Harris died on 24 March 1958, aged 88, in West Moors, Dorset, at Longhope, Station Road. The cause of death was given as "chronic senile myocarditis" (heart problems).8
