Christopher Brandis, son of Christopher Brandis and Ann Small, was born circa 1775 in Wylye, Wiltshire. He was probably born after the death of his father.2,1 He was baptised on 22 February 1775 in Wylye, Wiltshire.1
Christopher was the youngest of six children. His half-siblings were Thomas Hinwood, Alice Hinwood (bap 1758), Charles Hinwood (bap 1763), Ann Rumsey (bap 1767) and Mary Rumsey (bap 1770).
Christopher Brandis married Jane Ingram on 17 December 1794 in North Bradley, Wiltshire.1,2,3
Christopher and Jane appeared in the 1841 census of Wylye, Wiltshire. Their children Jane and Caroline were listed as living with them. Christopher was described as a Yeoman.4
In 1844, Christopher was a Farmer, according to the marriage certificate of his son Edward.5
Christopher and Jane appeared in the 1851 census of Wylye, Wiltshire, at 18 Bell Farm. Christopher was described as a Land Proprietor. Their daughter Jane was listed as living with them, as was their grandson George Brandis.2
Christopher Brandis died on 5 April 1853, aged 78, in Wylye, Wiltshire. The cause of death was given as hydrothorax (or pleural effusion) of three months duration.6
